The Travel Skincare Guide

The Travel Skincare Guide

Recently, I took a weekend trip to NYC to celebrate my lovely friend Noah's birthday. We stayed the weekend in the financial district and spent our days thrifting and checking out local coffee shops. At night, we explored the city's rooftop cocktail bars and dance clubs. Through the busy days and long hours spent traveling, I had to pay extra attention to my skincare routine. Whether you're planning a girl's trip or a work expedition, this guide will help you pack all the essentials for beautiful skin on the go.

Erin's Travel Essentials

While traveling, my already sensitive skin becomes completely problematic; Dry patches, breakouts, irritation, and clogged pores are common issues for me while away from home. Increased stress, change in diet, dehydration, and change in environment can all cause drastic changes in your skin's barrier.

With limited packing space, it's important to bring products that are versatile - Nobody wants to pack their entire skincare collection for a weekend trip. Read below for my favorite multitasking BGO products that keep my travel skin nightmares at bay.

Cleanser

While traveling, your skin is exposed to a variety of environmental pollutants. Whether it's sand, dirt, dust, or sweat, a good cleanser is essential for removing grime from the skin. My personal favorite is the Clarity Cleanser, which is formulated with honey and probiotics to balance the skin barrier and calm irritated skin. Because I wear makeup, I like to use a cleansing oil as a pre-cleanse to ensure my skin is squeaky clean. Hyaluronic Acid Spray

Hyaluronic Acid is a gentle but powerful hydrator. Naturally produced by the skin, it's non-irritating and extremely lightweight. While out and about, I like to spray a hydrating toner to refresh my skin. It not only feels great, but also prevents the skin from drying out. In the cold New York weather, the Renew Spray Serum kept my skin from becoming dry, red, and flaky. In warmer weather, this spray can take the edge off the heat and provide light, non-greasy hydration. This past summer, I brought it to the beach to refresh my skin after being in the salty water.

Collagen Boosting Moisturizer

It's so important to have a powerful moisturizer with you on the go. The Luminous Collagen Boosting Creme is one of my favorite multitaskers. Ursolic acid promotes collagen production in the skin, spirulina and probiotic ferments provide the skin with antioxidants and minerals to enhance texture and elasticity. The lightweight formula absorbs into the skin with no greasy residue, making it the perfect everyday face cream. I love to keep one in my bag to use as a hand cream on the go.

For my particularly dry skin, I like to bring a rich night cream for an extra boost of hydration. Moonlit Night Balm is packed with nutrients that easily absorb into the skin, supporting elasticity and cell restoration. Using this cream at night ensures you wake up with soft, supple skin. I love to use this under makeup before a night out to give my skin a radiant glow, or as a spot treatment for any dry patches that creep up on me.

Perfect for dry or aging skin, the Radiance Ritual bundle comes with Luminous Creme, Moonlit, and Renew Spray Serum. Shop the Radiance Ritual Minis Set for travel sizes of our favorite multipurpose products.

Pore Clearing Serum

Sometimes the ups and downs of traveling can lead to breakouts. Stress, eating differently, or being dehydrated can all cause irritation and blemishes. When breakouts try to kill my vibe, I use the Perfector Serum as a spot treatment to soothe any redness, irritation, and swelling. The base of the serum is hyaluronic acid, so it has the added benefit of being super hydrating- meaning you won't end up with dry, crusty breakouts. Formulated with white willow bark to ease inflammation and clean pores, this serum is a lifesaver while away from home.
